Hello- Plenty of replies on the mirror subject, so I'll keep mine brief. I drove both the '55's and 56's in their heyday. I remember the right door mirror on my car was useless from the driver's position, I could not view traffic. I always had to ask my wife to look in the mirror and tell me if any cars were near before I changed lanes. She could use the mirror but I couldn't.. But the mirror looked great! ----- Original Message ----- From: Rog & Jan van Hoy Sent: Saturday, May 24, 2003 4:28 PM To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: IML: Need help on 56 mirror mounting IIRC, outside mirrors were shipped to the dealer for installation. They ended up being put in several places at the customer's or dealer's discretion. I've seen "factory" mirrors on the doors and fenders of both '55 and '56. Speaking of right, the right mirror usually is worthless on this vintage. There's no right answer, unlike "lesser" models such as Dodge which had one spot for the mirrors that actually worked.
