Try a basin wrench from your plumbing supply.
I've also reached them from below and by lying on the motor and doing it by
braille (turn the motor off first <grin>)

Subject: IML: sending unit
Hi All.
I have found my oil leak it is not the rear seal
it is the little round sending unit on the back of the motor.
The problem is I can,t figure out how to get it
off.
None of my sockets will fit on it and I can,t get
a wrench on it either.
Any help on this would be great.
Thank you.
Bob.
p.s I forgot to say that this is a 68
imperial
