I am starting to feel ancient, since I remember JFK's TV funeral coverage first hand.
Those of us over 45, will always remember where we were when we heard that JFK was shot. Those of us under 40 were not born yet.
The first portion of the funeral procession was on foot. That was between the US Capitol Building were JFK's body lie in State, and the Cathedral (St. Patrick's ?).
After the funeral, everyone rode in cars between the Cathedral, and Arlington Cemetery. This would have been a distance of approximately 15 miles between the Cathedral and Arlington Cemetery - so of course everyone rode.
