The original opera light crystals were also real crystal and were watermarked (or however they do that) "Cartier". My dear departed blue car still had it's original crystals. The plastic replacements sold at an outrageous price at your friendly local Chrysler dealer are just fake ones, which are glued on in place of the originals and look almost right for the first few months, then deteriorate as Dan has eloquently described. Ugh! The key insert was always clear plastic, and if it is used as an everyday key it will get cruddy looking quite fast. The hood ornament insert was not crystal, (I don't believe so, anyway) and did not have the Cartier watermark.
