Car buying scam???

Kerry,

I could swear I heard about this on the Passat list I belong to. I
cannot remember the details, but it was a very similar story and I would
be wary. Cashiers checks can be cancelled!

Have his U.S. friend wire you cash via Western Union. If he has $7k to
buy a cashier's check, he should have $7k to give to Western Union.
(However, WU may have a limit to how much $ they will handle. If so,
check with your bank. Some banks will do bank-to-bank wire transfers.)
