What is JB Weld?

To give you an idea. An older gentlemen who was in the marine business told me when my lower unit on my boat was chipped in the water jacket area to use JB weld. I did it saved me a whole lower unit.

If I recall (and I've only used it once), it's a 2-part epoxy made up of metal powder in a base and a fixer that is mixed with it at time of use.  If properly mixed and the surface it is applied to is clean, it can do a respectable job of making repairs on metal.  According to the manufacturer, it can be sanded, drilled and shaped and lasts indefinitely.  What I used it for was to build up a broken surface and it worked.  It's available at most automotive stores.

So,

What is JB Weld, is it like a liquid model
cement? Or Methylene Chloride?

Where can you get it?

Inquiring minds want to know.
