I went to our local self-serve yard today to get a windshield for my 1990 Imperial. I also wanted to pick up a cruse control unit. I didn't manage to get a windshield as they are somewhat difficult to remove when the temperature is just slightly above freezing. I got the cruise unit though and it appreas to work fine. I also got a board for the trunk that covers that deep well in the middle. This well is nice that it is so deep but it makes it so hard to put things in the trunk because it is only in the centre and it leaves these little ledges around the sides and front that nothing will stay on anyway. I found a garage door opener that works on my garage door and also picked up a set of radiator fans but they turned out to be non-op. I don't need the fans right away but noticed one day last winter one of mine made a noise like it had a bad bearing. It was a one off thing so I'm not worried about it yet. When I got home, I installed the cruise. I also set to fixing an annoying issue with the headlights. There was some kind of loose connection in the steering column as the low beam lights would not operate if I moved the steering column down to a certain level (just the level I want it at for daily driving). I took the covers off the column and looked around in there. I didn't see anything loose so I put it back together. It works fine now so I must have just changed the wires routing enough to make the difference. I am not convinced that this wasn't the problem with the cruise in the first place either.
