66 engine cutting out at highway speeds

All the 60's Mopars had the in tank filter. The problem could also be crud coming from the tank & blocking the filter in the engine compartment. I had that happen on a 63. Try changing that filter first if you havn't already done so.When you dump the gas out of it, you'll likely see rust colored gas & fine particles of crud.

Just a quick question. Didn't 66s have a fuel filter in the gas tank commonly
called a sock at the pickup end of the fuel line? The new fuel pump, I bet,
is collapsing the filter by the sucking action of the pump -- causing a
running out of gas syndrome.
