It wasn't an option----- it was standard on all 8 cylinder models and 7 passenger 6 cylinder Chryslers and not available optionally at all apparently. I had to reconfirm this for myself today. First it is shown in the parts manual for 49, it is listed on page 74 of the Ross Roy handbook and darned if it isn't on my various 8 cylinder 49 Chryslers and T&Cs. My first experience with this was on our 50 Chrysler Royal station Wagon back in 70 when we first owned it. Had occasion to slam on the brakes and darn near went through the windshield. Didn't know I had them till I was checking after then and followed the vacuum line to the cylinder under the floor under the drivers seat. Now this has me wondering if the 46-8 models had this but will let someone else check it out. The parts numbers seem to be 49 vintage so I doubt it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Smith" <limoguy1950@xxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, January 27, 2003 11:56 AM Subject: IML: Power brake correction > > The message below should have read: > Bob Smith <limoguy1950@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > The Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942 does, in fact show power brakes as an option on the 1935 Chrysler Airflow. > However, the Standard Catalog 1946-1975 does not show power brakes as an option on the '49 Chryslers.
