Absolutely a strong "family resemblance" Hugh. I
have a wonderful book of archival photos of the Imperial from '64 thru
'68. When I look at the '65 Imperial side by side against the '65 Lincoln,
one can easily discern which "sibling" received the better looks. Had an
oppurtunity to purchase a '65 Lincoln conv. right here at home. It needed
about as much work as the Imperial and they were about the same price. I
ended up buying the Imperial because I felt in the long run I would have such a
uniquely styled and powerful automobile. Elwood Engel and his
designers did a great job on the '61 Lincoln and he did an equally superb job
with the '64 Imperial. Very "Lincolnesque" but different enough to be
recognized (by some anyway) as an IMPERIAL. Glad I own my
'65!
