Lets clarify dist timing a bit etc #1 cylinder



Correct, and thanks to everybody else supplementing my post about timing.  As a 
side note:  If you have a good ear for pinging and if you like your engine to 
operate at peak efficiency, do not trust the factory setting for the timing, as 
it is always conservative.  Instead, try to advance as much as you can.  This 
does not apply in the low compression engines.
