Polarizing Generator

To polarize any non-Ford made car with a generator, you MOMENTARILY touch
the battery hot lead (the plus side on a 1960 car) to the armature on the
generator, or the other end of the same wire on the regulator. It will
great a healthy spark, but an instant of contact is all you need.

Be very sure you have a generator, not an alternator, and that the engine is
not running.

Subject: IML: Polarizing Generator

Hello from windy Wisconsin,

Does anyone know which two leads on the voltage regulator need to be jumped
to "polarize" the generator? I'm picking up my 60 Crown today, and I can't
seem to find it anywhere in my service manuals.

Thank you,
Chris
