Door check device advice II

We are probably talking about different years here, but in the case of Tim's
and (potentially) Rodger's 1967 cars, the hinge is painted body color, and
it's the lower hinge that has the detent mechanism.  My understanding is
that Lowell sells both repaired hinges and kits to do your own.  This is
from memory, and I am getting old, so I guess it's worth a check with him to
see.

In my case, I just made my own parts to fix the one on my 68, but I probably
have a little more equipment for making parts than most.
