Peggy Sue's +/- situation

All,
I have to agree with the assertion that you should do your own (with the
list's help) diagnosis and repair on this car. DO NOT waste $75-$85/hr for
someone else's help. Here is a suggestion: Buy a battery charger
(inexpensive, and you never know when you may need it again in the future),
disconnect both battery cables from the battery and charge it up. Once
charged up, disconnect the charger and measure the voltage in the battery (a
fully charged battery should have at least 12 volts). If it does, let it
sit overnight without being connected to the car and check the voltage in
the morning. If it reads considerably less than 12 volts, you may have a
dead cell in the battery causing it to lose its charge. After that, the
experience and knowledge of those on this list can help you proceed with
diagnosis. Good Luck and keep us posted on what happens.
