Yes. The Imperial and New Yorker (1990-1993) had it as an optional feature. I'm not sure the Dynasty could be had with it though. The air ride system is different from the load leveling system. The latter setup had simply air shocks on the rear to compensaet for heavier loads in the back seat or trunk. The automatic load leveling air ride system has "air springs". These air bladders or air bags replace the conventional springs front AND rear for not only automatic leveling on all wheels but also an improved smooth ride due to the air ride. The system with the air shocks is fairly simple but still more complex than it needs to be IMO. This usually results in the whole system being scrapped when it goes wrong. The air ride system is also too complex and often gets scrapped. I'm not sure why every bus and truck manufacturer in Canada and the USA makes reliable air ride suspension systems and yet automobile manufacturers can't seem to get it right. IMO, they over-engineer the systems and make them impossible to service because of either their complexity or simply the cost of repair. <soap-box mode off> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jay Jones" <jayjones.realty@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, September 18, 2002 2:42 PM Subject: Re: IML: Tim Boehm '90 Imperial-air shocks Phil, I know that the after market hot rod part community has the 4-wheel air bag system, which I think is mainly for lowering the car when the car is parked, in other words, for looks. Has Chrysler ever had a 4 wheel air bag system? jay jones, garland, TX
