Hi
all,
Drove my
82 still EFI to show and shine day at a
hot rod,
custom and American car day, going all ok!!
Coming
home hit the gas pedal (wot) car faltered,
trans
kicked down but that is about all that happened,
backed off
the throttle trans changed back up converter
locked up
car accelerated ok with this partial throttle
opening.
Misfire
under load is then the best description i can give.
Drive car home using light throttle only, struggled up hills
etc.
Long day, up early also i have two young kids (6 months and
3yrs,
read tired) so i couldn't be bothered to look to deeply
today,
besides popping the hood and pushing the
throttle assembly
by hand to eliminate the throttle linkage from the equation,
engine revs up to maybe 2000RPM (hard to say without putting
a tacho on it) and just stays there (goes
flat).
My train of thought which is a bit ragged at the moment
points
me towards crud in spray bar assembly (plug wires #5 and
#7
are separated).
Did i mention that i had recently changed the timing
chain,
inlet manifold gaskets, cleaned out throttle body
and
changed the valve stem seals? The car has been
running
OK for the last week since the major surgery and the
car
has never idled so well (even now with the
misfire).
Will have a look tomorrow any other chain of thought
will
help my overstretched mind.
Thanks Neil Thorpe underpowered black 82 imp.
