There are 4 belts on your car, as you know. Two are the matched pair that operates the alternator and ac compressor: the Gates number for those are 7612 if you have the 100A alternator, and 7570 if you have the other alternator (you probably have the 100A alternator if your car was originally sold in the US. The number you mentioned, Mopar 4100679, interchanges with the 7612. Since you mentioned water pump, I'm not sure if those are the belts you need. Just to be complete, the other belts are: Water pump and power steering belt: 7450 Water pump and air injection pump: 7485 Dick Benjamin ----- Original Message ----- From: Neil Thorpe <nt014b6628@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, August 17, 2002 4:34 AM Subject: IML: 1982 alternator belt help please. > Hi all, > > Could someone please cross reference the following mopar > part nos. for alternator / waterpump belts on an 82 imp (318) > to a Gates part number which is easier to find in England? > > Mopar number on old belts : - 4100679 Duel 42-1552 > > This would help very much as these are the last parts > of a long list to be replaced in my search for a reliable > (relatively) smooth idling 82 imp. > > Thanks in advance > > Neil Thorpe 82 imp new timing chain, stem seals > and inlet manifold gaskets amongst other things. > > >
