not starting 57 hemi when HOT



>From your description, it sounds like a bad starter.  When it cooled down, the 
resistance dropped, the current increased, and the starter torque could 
overcome the engine.  My guess is if there was some engine damage that kept it 
from cranking, it would have been terminal.
