DB, if you like the 413 for its light load throttle response, you should also like the 66 440s that had the same heads with the 413 (smaller intake ports and exhaust valves). If its full throttle performance that you like, the 440 was substantially superior (even if the factory rating was essentially similar). Road tests show that late 60's 440's had substantially higher torque throughout the rpm range, leading to much better performance. Also, given the tons of low end torque, one can install a slightly bigger cam on a 440 (sacrificing a bit of the low end, but there is so much, so its OK!), getting a very substantial upper end. But I have never driven a 413 Imperial, so I do not doubt DB's opinion of better response at light loads (don't think DB is into WOT performance too much ! ;)). D^2
