Converting AC systems to R 134

I drive a 1995 model truck (Nissan) with R-134 and my observation is that it
works very well after being used every day (even winter) for seven years and
120k miles. However, it recently quit. It turns out that a hose had split,
depleted the system of refrigerant and ruined the receiver/drier (corrosion).
Replacement costs amount to $50 for the receiver/drier and $80 for the
hose....AND $4 a pound for R-134. Not terribly pricey.
