Hello Tony;
This is Arran from Vancouver island. The first
thing that I should point out is that your cars are Imperial Crowns, not Crown
Imperials. The Crown Imperial was the low production limousine in that year. In
the case of my car, which is a 1954 Imperial, the top of the line models were
all called Crown Imperial whether they were a limousine or not. The Imperial
Crown was the mid range series in between the Custom and the
LeBaron.
In terms of the engines in your cars they are both
the same 413. As far as I know all Imperials were manufactured in the U.S and
Imported to Canada, there were no Canada only models. Even if they had Canadian
only models I doubt whether mother MoPar would have bothered with funny
displacements on their raised block engines north of the border.
In terms of switching the air conditioning and auto
pilot from one car to another, I think that it would be a lot of work. To
install A.C on the non A.C car would involve ripping both cars apart both inside
and under the hood, especially the dash. If your A.C car has a rear unit as
well, even more ripping apart. Added to all of this you would likely need to get
an A.C shop involved alone the way to put it all together and make it work.
All of this for a feature that you may need maybe one week out of the
year.
I don't know what the differences would be between
an auto pilot and a non auto pilot car but it wouldn't be near as much hassle as
putting A.C in a non A.C car. If the white A.C car is decent enough I would
consider restoring it and selling the black one. Not only would it be more
original then swapping the features with the black car but it would likely be
cheaper in the long run.
Best Regards
Arran Foster
