Jim,
I don't for sure know the history of my Imperial, but I think the body was
made by Locke or Labaron for Chrysler. It does look very similar to the one
in 70 Years Of Chrysler and apparently the wire wheels and sidemounts were
options. The car was in a garage fire in the 50s and floated from collector
to collector until I purchased in the 70s and restored it over the next 10
years. It had some custom work done to it in years past and the dash had been
replaced, the springs replaced and any markings by the body builder had
either been removed or damaged by the fire. The car was from somewhere in
California, then went to Reno, Nevada and I purchased in Portland, Oregon.
Most of the parts came form a parts car I purchased here and through
Hemmings. It was a huge project but given the rarity of the car it was worth
the effort. I don't have any pictures available right now but will be
removing the car from storage with in the next couple of weeks and will email
a photo to you at that time. Don
