57 TRUNK SHEET METAL

Hello,
I have to remove the trunk sheet metal from a '57
sedan parts car, but have never done anything like
this. Can sheet metal pieces be split apart at spot
welds or brazing points? I see in the repair section
that sheet metal is often sealed together with lead.
Does this mean lead solder brazing? If so, does that
mean the best way to get a panel out is to melt/remove
the lead solder with a torch? Do I try to split
apart the pieces at the seams at the fender edges, or
do I cut out more than I need (wreaking the ajoining
sheet metal) and cut or shave it down to fit my car
when I install it? Or none of the above? If I'm
supposed to cut the pieces out, would a
Sawsall(reciprocating saw) with a metal cutting blade
be a good cutting tool, or should I use a oxy/acet.
torch?

THANKS!
