Yes, regular brake fluid absorbs moisture, which causes corrosion in
your brake system - cylinders, pistons, lines.  That is the primary
reason why it's recommended to flush & replace all brake fluid every 2
years.

PS  I'd guess not one in a hundred cars gets the brake fluid regularly
replaced.
