I have to say, too, that I've never seen a broken or snapped torsion bar. But I've heard some tales of 57 models having this happen, and seeing as it was a brand new technology at the time, I can see where maybe there may have been a few break, here and there. Worse torsion bar I ever saw, was on a old 67 Fury, that I parted out for my old boss. The adjustment bolts were ran all the way in, and it was still sagged big time, also, it had a big block in an original small block car, so it didn't have the bigger, big block bars. The old critter had about a gazillion abusive miles on it too, so if those bars didn't snap, I doubt that the bars on our Imps, (REQUISITE IMPERIAL CONTENT!!!) ever will. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim H Fielding" <bonhoffer@xxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, February 08, 2002 9:17 PM Subject: Re: IML: breaking torsion bars > Well, I sure stand corrected.
