I was just in Central Valley, NY (about one hour nw of NYC) and was given a
lead on a beautiful, unrestored 26,000 mile Chrysler New Yorker 4door HT. I
looked it over and it is an exceptional, all original car; dark green
metallic, black vinyl top(original and like new), black vinyl interior in
perfect condition. The car has AC and power windows (not vents), 440 engine,
manual split bench, AM radio. The car has very obviously always been garaged
as all chrome glistens like new, the only flaw I noted on the car was a few
minor scratches on the passenger side that would probably touch up to be
hardly noticable. I did not drive the car, but did hear it start and run
(immediate start on cold engine and very smooth, quiet idle). I was told the
asking price is $5000, but make an offer. I refrained from purchasing only
because I have just purchased two other cars including a '60 Eldo Brougham
which had been the whole reason for the trip. It is killing me that I just
can't justify purchasing another vehicle now, because this is an
extraordinary example. I hope someone on this list might be interested in
giving it a proper home.
