You know gang, it is VERY easy to take a position when you only know half the story. I don't know how many of you are "managers" but those who are will remember the big "AH HA" when the first found out about all the stuff that had been happening behind the scenes. Makes you feel a little dumb for thinking what you had been thinking once you found out the whole story. For the rest of you, you might compare it to becoming a parent. For those of you who don't have a clue what I'm talking about I'm sorry that I cannot be more eloquent. However, the fact is that there was "STUFF" going on behind the scenes as there always is. It is not appropriate to share "STUFF" with the list as a whole. If you want to get involved and change things, join the admin list. If you want to talk about anything, join another list (too, you don't have to leave us). If you want to ask Dick Benjamin about the fuel injection on your Yugo, take it private. (That's the thing you do instead of hitting reply and typing, Yeah, me too.) You want to see members leave, just let the fragile discipline go away. Yep, we sometimes are inconsistent. Believe it or not, we have lives and sometimes are not present to 'nip things in the bud'. When that happens you may NEVER know what is done in the background. Many of us (including me) have been 'coached'. Most of us take it in the manner it was intended and just move on. Some don't and MOVE ON. Some don't and get banned. This is not a dictatorship, the volunteers on the admin list take their responsibility seriously and many spend HOURS each day to support this thing that way too many people take for granted. If you don't like the way things run, get involved! If the admin list approves you, you can have my job. I will be glad to have a private discussion about this subject with anyone concerned.
