Welcome to our Club,Zack, Once you get that '64,most,if not all,of the info you need for a god rest should be found right here. The inmportant thing, from what I have seen,is what you put in the Subject: line. A good Subject: line will get peoples attn and get the results that you need. Check out the Imperial Year-By-Year pages regarding the '64. There is alot of info there. I think you made a good move by not sticking with the '83 Eldorado. I had an '80,which had the sturdier engine(the 368 which was a downsized 500). Mine was a gray Biaritz with the stainless-steel roof...which,by the way,was the WORSE car I have ever owned. I replaced Body-mounts,repaired foolish electrical probs, replaced $100 ball joints and expensive C-V joints, the computer,p/s box, seat motors, fixed a H20 leak that was coming from the drivers-side under the dash, replaced window motors, etc. I once took the car to NYC in the winter..and the pass-side window stuck down on 5th Ave...then the heater quit...then the cruise quit. I wanted to get in the trunk to get my coat cuz I was freezing, but the elect trunk release quit..and I didn't want to shut the car off and use the trunk key because I was afraid it wouldn't start back up. What a nightmare that car was. It looked good tho...with it's squeaky wire-wheelcovers that I had to keep taking apart and tightening the spokes up on....etc. I could accesss all of the computer "trouble codes" thru the heater by pressing OFF and WARMER(I think) at the same time..and watch all of the #'s flash. 12,22,35... ...and those stupid 4-wheel disc brakes! Good luck with the Imperial. It is a MUCH better car. Steve from Albany,N.Y. '75 Imp 4dr <--had it and the Cad. Guess what lasted longer. Stay tuned! Self-Introduction: Hello, my name is Zack. I own a company providing web site design & development/video production & editing services called Delta Designs (www.Delta-Designs.com, just thought you'd like to know, lol). I LOVE most classic cars, it started when I was looking for a cheap used car and found a 1968 Plymouth Valiant (not exactly a prize car) but did not buy it because it led me to the older line of Chrysler Imperials. I've been doing research and plan to completely restore the Imperial I buy so will be looking here for information in that department. Good thing I didn't stick with the 83 Cadallac El Dorado!
