*As I pick up the wrong book* THE PAINT CODE (refer to your body number plate -- located on the 'A' pillar inside the door --- PNT (3-digit code, the first 2 are upper/lower color the 3rd designates 2-tone, sports-tone, convertible --- unfortunately the designations are not given) COLOR A = Royal Gold Metallic B = Formal Black C = Ice Blue D = Nassau Blue Metallic E = Navy Blue Metallic F = Mist Blue Metallic G = Sequoia Green Metallic 4 = Moss Gold Metallic 2 = Sage Green Metallic K = Peacock Turquoise Metallic L = Royal Turquoise Metallic N = Silver Mist Metallic M = Granite Gray Metallic 3 = Pink Silver Metallic S = French Ivory T = Spanish Red Metallic V = Cordovan Metallic W = Persian White X = Sand Dune Beige Y = Sable Tan Metallic Z = Frost Turquoise Metallic 5 = Black Plum Metallic 6 = Mauve Metallic 7 = Patrician Gold Metallic R = Sierra Sand NOTE: This list consists of colors for Chrysler & Imperial -- all colors may not be Imperial I would venture a guess that a 2-tone would have different letters (ex. your red/white would look like this -- WT? (or TW? -- where ? = unknown designation for 2-tone) The only 2-tone Imp I've seen is the Black/Red(or Burgundy) '66 in Blow (which would be PB?, QB?, 7B? (or the reverse of one of those) Good Luck Paul '65 Crown Coupe (661) '75 Newport (KG2) '78 Newport (EW1) >From: "Johan Christian Wildhagen" <johanchristianwildhagen@xxxxxxxxxxx> I'm having a hard time researching what the original factory color options were for my 65 Le Baron. Am I not looking hard enough? The original owner put a cheap and inferior white over red scheme on it in the early 80's (thank you Earl "I'll paint anything that moves for the dirt on your shoes" Schibe). Thinking of keeping the white/red for the new paint job. Looks good with the red interior as well. Was that scheme an option for 65? Was there a "flag color" for Chrysler (like Rolls Royce silver, Ferrari red, Bentley green, Cobra blue.....Yellow Cab? ....O.k. that last one was a joke man but you know what I mean). I remember reading when I was little that W.P. Chrysler was driven around in an "Imperial Red" Imperial that was a company "show car".
