Thanks Percy.

You comments reconfirm what I remember hearing.  Furthermore, it seems more 
practical to just be sure to do the correct prep work at repaint time, 
rather than fret over the various products used in the garage.

I may also look into the Simix product mentioned later by Greg.  My car is 
a driver and could surely use the protection.  It also has no clear coat - 
this stuff may work well.
