Try again with the puller, a heavy duty one, bang on the cross handle of
the puller with a sledge. Then when that doesn't work, put a couple of
propane torches on the hub, heat it up, then keep hitting it with the
sledge until it pops off. Then when you're fed up and it's still not
off, heat it up some more and go leave it alone for awhile. Once, when
we did that, I think it was 30 mins or so and we heard this loud bang in
the shop. Sure enough, it had finally broken loose.

DO NOT bang on the hub center. Won't help and it will mess up your
axle, etc, etc.

* Forgive me if this is covered in the website Repair section but I
have been unable to find it. My 1956 Crown Imperial was giving
trouble with the right rear brake sticking to the point I would have
to shift back and forth from D1 to Reverse to get the brakes to
disengage. I have it in a repair shop and they cannot get the rear
wheel hub to come off the axle. Any suggestion of how to get it done
? The car is an unrestored 114,000 mile car and there is some rust.
We have tried penetrating oil and the normal hub pullers to no avail.
Thanks for any suggestions you can offer. *
