The older cars were built in an era of correctly built for the time. I never refer to an older car as enviormently incorrect car, Including Imperials. Heck, todays cars with gadgets that distract the driver are enviormentally (mental) incorrect. Remember when we said, "See ya when we get there". No body being distracted with a cell phone back then that could crash into me. No gps. Why, gettin lost meant a new adventure. Seeing places the crowd of gps users will never see because they are all being sent down the same road together. Then, just when you need your gps the most because you do not have a map or remember how to get somewhere, the gps takes a cr!p and goes to sleep.
See, my Imperial is enviornmentally correct because I did not buy a new car and produce factory emissions to replace it. I recycled almost 3 tons of product by putting it back on the road in 83 and kept parts out of the public dump by using old parts to keep it running. So, I am truly enviornmentally Correct thank you. joe machado, I never put down an Imperial

I agree with Rob. Our cars are not "environmentally correct" in that they use more gasoline, but we sure enjoy driving them. The looks and the comfort in these older cars outshines the newer toy cars. Being able to stretch out our legs and have plenty of hip room is "real luxury". New cars may have more gadgets inside and under the hood, but they don't have the class or attraction of the older cars IMHO. Many of the styling and engineering features that were introduced in Imperials over the years have now become standard in nearly all cars now: 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, curved side-glass, ABS, safety rim wheels. I still like the idea of swivel front seats. Perhaps some day they will make a come-back.
