Thanks a lot for your contribution Dan, I am glad that I discovered this 
wrong type of thermostat in de first place!
Right now I am happy with my 180 thermostat, and I am already sure that it 
contributes in a lower fuel consumption!
I will keep my fingers crossed that nothing will happen during a hot 
summerday, but will inform you all next summer :)
