RE: IML: is a 440 a 440?

your 430 Buick must have had the factory nylon timing gear syndrome that retards the timing about 15 degrees and dogs them out.  I have had several that do that, however a tight 430 Buick is a pretty hot motor and certainly a lot lighter than a 413/440. (I can barely pick up my bare 392 block by myself, whereas I can carry a big block buick shortblock).
Regardless, I am building a 392 for a 57'  Imperial and I wonder if it will have enough "oomph" in stock form.  I may have to bore/stroke it out to 430ci. or so.   he he

OK, you got me.  I even had one!  It sure didn?t have the oomph of a 440 though, or even a 413.
