Thanks for clearing that up!
I suspected that, but I had forgotten that the "disc brakes" were still
being offered by that time. The design started in the very late
40's/early 50's and I have seen it in action on some Chrysler Town and
Country's (I think 1950). I believe that 1955 was the first year that
the M/C appeared on the firewall in regular production Chrysler cars.
Prior to that it was under the floor.
Now I want to check my books and see if the '56 limo was set up the
same way.

Hello, The 1955 Crown Imperial had no brake booster, it did not need
one as it had four wheel dick brakes. Mine stops very easy and
