If it is done correctly with the correct tools there will be no damage,
and the drum will come off. If they insist they are doing it right and
damage is going to occur, then there is something wrong with them, not
your car.

NOW I understand.
Here is what my mechanic tells me: they have the right hub puller and
the correct BF guy to slam the thing wide open but now they feel they
are at a point where there will be damage to the whole thing ( shaft?)
. So what then can be done?
I wonder if there is a change that can be made to front disc brakes and
never mind the rear drum brakes forever.
lAlso the bureaucrats here are blocking my car until I change the
wheels.
I have mags that are too wide and the tire touches a bit inside when
turning.
I do not have 15 inch wheels. Do you know if 59-63 Imp wheels fit on
59s? It will be easier to find if that selection is open to me rather
than oly 59 wheels.

I have the type puller pictured. I have used it on both of my 64'
Imperials
as well as several other Mopars with no problem. I even use it at
