IML: Original Equiipment Tires on '62 Imperials

Does anyone know what brand and line of original equipment tires were
used on '62 Imperials? I am curious, because my '62 has a really old
spare tire in it with the double white wall stripes on it. I would not
dare to put this on the car if I had a flat. It needs to be replaced,
but I thought about the visual effect of these thinner whitewall style
tires of that year. There are still slim whitewall tires available from
several manufacturers that could be used on the car to restore the
original appearance. Some are even radial tires.
The '62 sales brochure I have shows slim single stripe whitewall tires
on the illustrated models. The car actually has wide whitewall tires on
it now due to emergency replacements that were needed when I took a 300
mile trip with the car in the late 1980s. It turned out that the tires
that were on the car had become so deteriorated that the tread started
separating from the body of the tires. Vibration at speed was the
indication noticed. I made the last 50 miles of the trip at speeds of
about 30 mph. The next day I had a local tire shop replace all four
tires. I did not touch the spare at the time.
Happy motoring!
