List, Thank you for all of helpful tips. I will follow up on the leads you have given me before continuing. My mechanic has to replace the shifter cable and I thought it would be a good time to replace the speedometer cable or pinion at the same time if it would solve my problem. I checked the speedometer accuracy at different highway speeds by keeping the Imperial at a constant speed while a passenger timed how long it took to travel 1 mile (using a stopwatch and mile markers).
