I did look at the battery itself last night and it is in properly.
The battery has the little "-" and "+" near the posts, so I know that, although
the cables are confusing, that it's in there right.
It seems silly it that would be hard to find black cables. For the
Homer Simpsons out there who finally say, "Oh, it's red wire to red wire," the
colors help.

Red cables are common because for the last several years, that has been
primarily what has been sold in the auto parts stores. I asked for black ones once, and they said they didn't carry them any more. I could have found them if I looked harder, but I guess I was tired and a little bit annoyed. When I had my '60 worked on recently at my local shop, they also replaced the battery cables. At least they had the sense to wrap the ground in black tape (without me asking them to) so that it looked like the ground. I had a look at my 65 and I dont reckon your xpal had anything to do with your power probs. There is nothing at the carb he could have damaged to create your dead system. Its time to pickup a 6pack and makeup.Strangely though, my ground cables is red also.Never noticed it before. If you get to Harbour Freight and go for their $2.50 multimeters dont tug on the leads.!!! They will not survive. Good luck Geoff Simpson in New Zealand See what's free at AOL.com. |
