During a wiring problem that occurred, there was no power going to that circuit. That problem caused my Oil Pressure Sending Unit and the electric choke to malfunction. As an emergency step, I tapped into the first thing I could find to get power to the choke. The plus side of the coil was handy, and it worked. Not only did it work, but the choke spring did not require any adjustment to compensate for a difference in voltage that might have been between the two sources.
I drove the car that way for over a year before finding the original wiring problem that caused all the trouble in the first place. When a shop installed a new water pump on my car, they caught the wiring to the Oil Pressure Sending Unit under the pump housing, tightened everything down, and promplty shorted out the circuit. It wasn't easy to find since the engine is pretty greasy, and the wires hang quite low. I actually discovered it when I was changing the oil and filter. With the filter removed, on that car, I could see where the wiring was coming out from under the water pump.
Once the choke was again being powered by its correct and original source, I still did not have to adjust anything to make it work properly. Again, this was not on a Chrysler, but it did work fine.

How long would it take for the electric choke to heat up this way? Not sure if a 67 has ballast or not. Regardless of where you tap in, I suggest an inline fuse available from radio shack close to the point you get the power especially if you come off the regulator directly.
Changing the subject abruptly here and in effort to conserve email listings, I submit this link I just ran across. It claims to be for Rockefeller's 1970 Imperial Limo now for sale on a New Zealand auction with a $100,000 reserve! Can any Imperialists corroborate this as authentic?

Is there anything wrong with hooking the electric choke off my new >
edelbrock carb to the feed to my regulator. That's just switched 12 volts > right?
