The two switches are completely different - in fact the whole steering column is different. The cars with Tilt wheel use steering columns made by Saginaw Gear - a subsidiary of GM. The cars without that feature use Chrysler built steering columns. All 1967 through much later (1983?) Imperials have cornering lights, by the way. As many have pointed out before, there is a company in Texas (I believe) who makes replacement switches for the tilt wheel cars - the company's name is Shee-Mar, if I recall rightly. Check the IML archives for this discussion. Most everything that comes up these days on the IML has been covered before - I've been on here for over 10 years now, and am seeing very few new problems discussed. I imagine the wires are shorter on the latter but anything else? Anyone have close up pictures of the non tilt switch?
