Thank you very much for the info on the filter. That sounds like a smart way to go. Tonight, I played it safe (I think I'm glad I did) and pulled the thermostat. By regulating the amount of water flow, I was able to acheive what was probably 130 degrees coming out the upper hose. While that's not quite operating temp., it allowed things to probably dislodge a bit more. I also put full pressure on and ran the engine at a higher speed. That's what got rusty water to come out. Next step will be an old radiator & "Cascade", and a backflush on the heater core (has been bypassed thus far). Then a filter and the new radiator. Thanks everyone for the help.
