Sounds like a great idea,
Is there a kit available for a 62 413 with all the parts and who would sell
it, NAPA?

RE: IML: 56 Ignition Problem -
Pertronix
I too, am using the Pertronix ignition module on both my Imperials. I have
nothing but good things to say about it. Granted, it is not 100% original
under the hood but the only way to tell is by removing the distributor cap.
Otherwise there is nothing visibly different. Plus I now have the
piece-of-mind knowing that the car starts first time every time.
For anyone having ignition problems, I can’t recommend it enough. (and it
works with or without a ballast resistor)

I have been following this thread on and off.
I had a 1966 Newport that died one morning.
I went through all sort of trouble shooting and it ended up being a bad
voltage regulator.
The good part of this story is that I replaced everything in the ignition
and the voltage regulator with modern stuff. I used the opportunity to
install a Pertronix I electronic ignition.
The car ran flawlessly for another ten years without a tune up after this!

Well I certainly hope that fixes it for you.
Strange that the coil would be fried, a bad
condenser should not damage the coil. A good
coil will act like it's bad if the condenser is
not working but will work fine again once the
condenser is replaced.
Have a good evening
