I still think that the teal '59 was pretty. The color combination was fabulous, even though not original. Maybe not worth the big bucks, and maybe got sold to someone poor little rich soul who thinks its original, but oh well. I think that if you want to purchase a car and autheniticity is your bag, then you can only blame yourself if you don't get what you want. There are plenty of easily accessible sources of correct information about nearly any car made. Imperials are not as common, so it is easier to get stung. Not so with Mustangs and '57 Chevys. The more popular the car the more folks are familiar with what is right.
On that particular '59, I am darn sure that I saw it on Ebay recently, and even though it was done with some artisitic expression, I wouldn't be ashamed to own it. That is even though authenticity IS my bag.
