This 59 Imperial was knock-out, drop dead gorgeous. Flawless to my eye. We looked at it several times. The $130,000 price is very high, yes, but this beauty deserved that price, in my opinion. The car just stood out. There was nothing else like it there, except perhaps for the 1960 Polara cvt. There were so many cars that all kind of looked the same but not the DeSotos and the Imperial. The place was crawling with Challengers and Cudas. Counted over of them inside the Big tent next to the auction arena on Sunday when we were walking through the sold cars area. Seemed to be way too many for them all to have attained stratospheric prices, but then I didn't follow the prices. Can't stand the noise of the screaming auctioneer. My two cents, Henry HOpkins----- Original Message -----From: Dick BenjaminSent: Friday, January 19, 2007 8:30 PMSubject: RE: IML: '59 Imperial on SpeedThe buyer must be on Speed also!
