I do believe the 1960 Three Speed Automatic Torque-Flite was the first year the bell-housing was cast as part of the transmission case.  If that is true, the unit was never painted ( it may have some over-spray from the engine though ).

 

This number ( 951-694-3062 ) is of a place that rebuilds the transmission and sells them on Eee-Pay.  Try them for what they do.
