If the emblems are good, they still might need to be removed in order to replate the cast ornament. As it is, if they have to be removed, they are always destroyed in the process. Maybe the tabs could be slotted so that a tapered pin could be used to fasten the emblem. The pin might have to be designed to hold the medallion tightly, but something could be done that would be effective and also servicable.
What ever is done, it would be better to ruin a replaceable clip than an expensive medallion.
