Hola Fredrick
The exact size of the pulley's really depends on the year of the
unit. This is due to changes in what was going on with MoPar's Parts at
that time. Just measure the diam of your alternator or power steering
pulley and ask the local NAPA store what you have. The large diam pulley's
item can be found at the local pick & pull on every size of MoPar engine
from Valiant's to pick up trucks too. Expect to spend two hrs ah lookin
and pay about two buck's for the part. If needed, you may label this as
"retro fitting".
The flip side of this towing item is that for the same year, the tow items
was in line with the Hi-Perf or HP version of the vehicle. The tow version
did not use the high rpm cam and dual snorkel air clean housing's unless that
style of engine was also ordered.
My 1967 Towing Brochure states the new owner is to have the hitch assembly
fab'd and installed by a local metal shop to MoPar's spec's. The photo on
the cover shows an AirStream being pulled in what looks as the hills of Santa
Barbara. In later years MoPar started having hitch assemblies they called
their own .
I hope this clears up what for at least one of you ( that you may have in
mind ).

Vehicles
Hi Rodger:
I have a 69 LeBaron with the towing package.
Do you know the diameters of the different pullies so that I could
measure mine?
I have the 69 FSM and as I recall the HD rear springs are actually fewer
in number (6 vs. 7?) but presumably thicker.
Also, I am interested in a power steering cooler because I previously had
a 66 Newport which had the power steering overheat badly to the detrement of
the entire power steering system. Is there an OEM power steering
cooler and where would one get it and the hoses?
As an owner of one of these cars I find it facinating that someone would
order one new for ther purpose of towing.
Maybe they just wanrted the HD goodies. I certainly like my trans cooler
and think that the heavy duty springs and 3.23 rear are great.
Does anyone know how many of these cars were ordered with the tow
package?

Hola All
If you have a 413 or newer powered Imperial open the hood and notice
the two same sized holes near the rad-ah-rate-tior and the lower portion of
the battery on the core mount structure. This is for the OEM mounted
power steering aux cooler lines. The mount is slightly different from
the Crashlier Division to the Imperial Division even though they appear the
same.
The Imperial for the towing package has a different spec'd transmission
than a regular Imperial.
You have already ID'd the extra/additional transmission cooler, the
stiffer T-bars and the additional rear springs.
Even though it may not have the Hi-Perf 413 or the HP 440 it may have
the same alternator or power steering sized pulley's. The amp's with
tow packages are higher too.
The older Imperial with the 8 3/4 rear axle assembly should have the
3:23.1 gears and the newer ones with the 9 1/4 rear axle will have 3:21.1
gears when they were built for towing.
If you do tow with your 1959-1978 Imperial you should have 235x75's vs
235x70's since they are rated for a heavier load.
The best HP tow camshaft package for either engine is the MoPar
P4286675 assembly.
I like this cause it is very close to the power packages.
