What causes the steering fluid to overheat? Friction in the fluid as it does its work? There aren't friction plates like in a transmission, and I'm not seeing what would cause this. What would cause conditions to change that would make it heat up more on a tow vehicle? Load on the front wheels inducing more strain to pivot them? --- About coolers: I have 40 of them hanging on a rafter. They came from Imperials, so presumably take no modifiaction. They are a non-wear item as they are just a finned cooler with hoses. I can media blast, solvent tank, or leave covered in vintage funk at your preference. Contact me off-list about that.
