This is good to know. Sounds like '64 was the first year for the custom plaques and probably 75 as the last year for the plaques. Can't figure out how my father didn't have a '69 for the Custom Crown he ordered unless it came inside the manual packet and Imperial dealers left it up to the owner to put the plague on or not. After all if you do sell the car in a few years it does make a mess on the dashboard to peel one back off. Sure would like to get a hold of some blank plaques! -----Original Message----- From: mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of jlindholm Sent: Friday, January 05, 2007 2:10 PM To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: IML: engraved dash name plates Hi All, My father ordered new Imperials in 64, 66, 68, 71, and 73 They all came with engraved dash name plates jack 73 lebaron sadly awaiting disposition 84 benz 420 driving daily in manhattan ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: Mark McDonald <tomswift@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Reply-To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Tue, 2 Jan 2007 21:47:40 -0600 >I have seen several of these plates, and I'm not sure where they came >from, but they were often affixed to the dash when the car was >purchased.
